Q1. How long has HyperConX been in business?

HyperConX has been in business since the Spring of 1995. We started out as a web development firm and gradually expanded our service catalog to further include web hosting, online marketing, project management and Internet consultation. -top-

Q2. Do you offer 24/7 technical support?

Yes! We offer 24/7 technical support via email and toll-free phone support Mon-Fri 8:AM - 6:PM with an under one hour call back in off hours. Phone and Live Chat support are not available on national holidays. However, email, trouble ticket and callback are available 365 days a year. -top-

Q4. What if I am not completely satisfied with your services?

We offer a 30 day money back guarantee on all hosting accounts and standard setup fees. However, we do not refund domain registration fees or fees associated with special setups performed at the customers request. See our guarantees for more information. -top-

Q5. Are you a reseller of web hosting services or the real deal?

HyperConX is NOT a reseller of hosting services! We manage our own dedicated connectivity, our own network of servers, our own staff and our own technology. When you call HyperConX for technical support you speak to a HyperConX network operations specialist that will assist you with your problems and not an offshore call center with Level I techs that read cue cards. Resellers may offer better prices, but they DO NOT and CAN NOT support a product properly if the product is not their own. -top-

Q6. How fast is your connection to the Internet?

HyperConX is online with XO and Level III networks via redundant OC3/DS3 connections just one hop off of a nationwide OC48 infrastructure which delivers speeds of up to 2488Mbps. Websites located on our servers can typically expect speeds burstable up to 100Mbps. -top-

Q7. Do I get a shopping cart and SSL with my account?

All of our accounts come with the latest versions of a variety of shopping cart softwares. The Merchant Premier account comes with a free SSL certificate and dedicated IP address. The lesser two ecommerce packages were put together to offer a more feasible package to those companies that are either on a very low budget or just want to use the shopping cart for showcase purposes and not actual ordering. However, the two more economical packages DO come with a shared server wide certificate and P3P Compact Privacy Policy so that the shared SSL works properly with your software. -top-

Q8. Do you provide a site builder with my account?

Yes. All accounts come with a variety of content management systems as well such as Joomla (Mambo), PHPNuke, Coranto, Drupal, PostNuke and more. CMS site builders give you the ability to install and build robust websites. The Joomla CMS software is the head of its class in building and maintaining content rich websites and online communities. Beside Joomla there are many other free scripts that are easily installed and will provide interactive programming for your site. -top-

Q9. How long does it take to setup a new account?

All new accounts are typically setup within one hour. You can start uploading your website immediately using the machine name provided in the Welcome Email. Please be advised however, that the propagation of your existing domain name can take about 48 hours. New registrations we register for you can take only a couple hours for access. -top-

Q10. Can I upgrade my account?

Yes. Simply contact us at any time by creating a helpdesk ticket if you wish to upgrade your account. You are only charged the difference in the monthly account price from the request date to the end of your billing period. There are NO setup fees for upgrading. Please include your domain name and telephone number in the correspondence. -top-

Q11. Are there any contracts to sign to use your hosting services?

No. Your billing period is your contracted period and you even have 30 days to change your mind. -top-

Q12. How will I be billed for my account?

If you are paying by credit card your card will be billed at the end of your billing period and you will be sent a "Paid Invoice" with the details. Please keep your billing information current.

Check payment is accepted only on 12 month prepaid accounts and dedicated solutions.-top-

Q13. Do you provide SSH access to your servers?

Yes, but by request only. The SSH shell is a jailed envirornment and you will only have access to the typical file manipulation utilities. Access will be granted only to those that have made the request and provide us with a photo identification for the current state they are residing in. Remember, security is our business. -top-

Q14. Can I host adult sites on your servers?

No. You can not upload them to our machines or even link to sites hosted elsewhere. It is the sole discretion of HyperConX as to what it considers an adult web site. So you may want to send us your URL for verification. -top-

Q15. Do you have a webmail system so I can check my email anywhere?

Yes. No matter where you are on the globe you will have access to your Inbox. This is in addition to your regular POP access which is not effected until you return home and check your mail. We currently provide three different applications for your webmail purposes, Roundcube, SquirrelMail and a multilingual webmail client called UebiMiau Mail. It is strongly encouraged that webmail be used on an as needed basis and not as a full time email client. Outlook, Entourage, Eudora and Mac Mail work best.-top-

Q16. What sort of Virus and Spam protection do you offer?

All incoming email is completely scanned for spam and viruses upon entering our network. We run a custom version of SpamAssasin that allows each domain to custom configure to their own needs. Customizations include tagging and passing on the spam to the inbox, quarantining in a single quarantine on the server for access through webmail or quarantining per user. You can also set the level you want to block, set the server to delete highscoring spam and various other customizations. Q17. How can I track who is visiting my site?

Every domain comes with its own web site statistics area which includes hits, unique visitors, pages viewed and bandwidth. The usage is broken out into daily, and monthly usage with several averages performed and displayed. The statistics even tell you what keywords are being used at search engines to find your website. Your statistics can be accessed through your control panel under Stats/Usage. -top-

Q18. What sort of development tools come with my account?

All accounts come standard with PHP4, PHP5, Perl, MySQL, Python, Miva Empresa, Empresa VM, GD2 and much more. -top-

Q19. Do you support Microsoft FrontPage?

Microsoft has announced the End of Life for the Microsoft Frontpage Extensions. New versions are no longer provided or licensed. Although the "extensions" are no longer supported you may still use your Frontpage software as a WYSIWYG editor which will allow you to create an HTML only page and publish. However, the features that the "extensions" provided such as webbot and form processing will no longer work. -top-

Q20. What is the name server info for the HyperConX network?

Because of our DNS clustering and load balancing the name servers that your domain name should point to all depend on the machine you are being setup on. If you need help with these you can contact us and we will give you the best values to use at that time. They are also provided in the Welcome Email that you receive after account setup. -top-

Q21. Do you offer VPS hosting (virtual private servers)?

Q22. My current hosting provider lacks and I can't get any support! Can you help?

As a new customer we will make sure that you are singing praises about our service and support from day one by assisting you in transferring from that host that is causing you grief, assist you in getting to know the tools and options you have available to you, and help by cleaning up any current problems you are having. Your satisfaction is our reputation so we take customer service very seriously.

We have a 99.5% customer satisfaction rating. Should you decide within 30 days that you are that 1 customer out of 200 that dislike our services and/or support we will refund your money to you with no questions asked. -top-

Q23. Can I resell my web space?

You are welcome to purchase hosting packages and resell them at prices that you set.

You are also welcome to resell your own web space, but if you exceed your web space limitation you will incur additional overage charges per megabyte of storage or be given the opportunity to upgrade to a more fitting package. Furthermore, you will be responsible for the content and data transfer of sites within your hosting package. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to pornography, spam, trademark infringement, or otherwise federally mandated content.
