Q1. Why do I need a web site?

To promote and publicize your business, advertise your products or services, communicate with your customers, show examples of your work or to sell your products. A good web site can turn your contacts into customers by providing convenient, relevant information about yourself, your company and your products 24 hours a day 7 days a week. -top-

Q2. How much can I expect to spend on web site development?

The cost of design and development of your site is really dependent on its size, complexity, and the materials provided to complete the job. If the copy and graphics are provided in a workable electronic format the cost of a two page web site can start at $299.99 which includes a feedback form for collecting leads and general contact. The annual costs for domain registration and hosting come to about $172 for that same design package. -top-

Q3. Why does web design cost so much?

It really doesn't. Like any valuable piece of marketing collateral developing a web site is an investment in the intellectual property of your company. Compare the amount quoted to you for web design with the cost of a decent sized yellow page advertisement and you will see that you are spending less for more. Keep in mind that a yellow page advertisement isn't at all interactive and you get to pay for it every year. -top-

Q4. What should I put on my web site?

Put whatever your customers need to know! Who are you? What does your company do? How well does you company do what it does? Can I see some examples of your work? Why should I choose you instead of anyone else? How do I get in touch? Then add enough interactivity to make your site "sticky". A sticky site will bring customers back and increase repeat business. -top-

Q5. How do I promote my web site?

When we design your site we include the necessary technology that will deem your site appropriate for certain search phrases at the search engines. This is done through a concept called metatags and keyword density that we establish throughout your pages. We then submit your site to the major search engines. Your job is to tell everyone you meet about it! Do this by putting your web address on your business cards, brochures or advertisements, e-mails and on your voice-mail greeting. Then look for sites on the World Wide Web with related products or services and ask for reciprocal links between your two sites. -top-

Q6. How long does web site development take?

You can expect to see suggested graphics and layouts within a few days of the time we start your project. The construction and development of your web site can take as little as two days or as long as several weeks, depending on your site?s complexity and size. For example, a few pages of descriptive content and contact information are simple to create. On the other hand, a site incorporating Flash interactive content, a shopping cart, response forms and dozens of photos can take much longer. If the customer is operating in a corporate environment, collecting content and getting approval from all the parties involved can significantly extend the timeframe of the project. -top-

Q7. Will I be able to edit content on my web site myself?

On project completion, clients my request a copy of their website on a CD. Though most clients find it more convenient to have us update their sites periodically, you can certainly make changes as often as you like on your own. Of course you will need some basic web site creation/editing software in order to make changes and publish your revised pages. We recommend DreamWeaver MX or FrontPage 2002. Also new from Macromedia is the Contribute software which allows us to designate areas of your website that are to be editable by Contribute and in turn you can edit the content and upload the new edited pages. -top-

Q8. Can you design a secure e-commerce solution for us?

Thats one of our specialties actually. All of our hosting packages come with the #1 shopping cart software free of charge. This gives everyone the ability to sell their products or services online. We also offer customizations and implementation of the shopping cart into your existing web site at an additional charge or you can get to know the software yourself and follow the road of the do-it-yourself designer. The software is really easy to learn but of course we recommend using our professional implementation. Here are some nice implementations for you to look over: -top-

Q9. Where should I host my web site?

We recommend of course that you host your web site with HyperConX International as we provide a more robust development environment than most hosting providers and at a cost of about 25% less of comparable packages. Our web hosting is backed by a 99.9% uptime guarantee and 24/7 technical support. If you are considering a free hosting provider you need to also consider the banner advertisements that popup and annoy your visitors. Why put together a professional web presence and then host it in such an unprofessional environment? -top-

Q10. Can I put a counter on my pages so I know how many visitors I receive?

You have that option, yes. We have a hit counter system with over 250 different digits for you to choose from. However, if you are hosting with HyperConX we have a better option for tracking your visitors called web site statistics. Our statistics system tracks hits to your pages, unique visitors to your site, number of pages viewed, and many informative averages and graphs. -top-
